If you’re like me you will probably have had an email box full of latest promotions from the Internet Marketing gurus. Just recently we have had the Mike Filsaime product fiasco! Then there was Google Nemesis, then a day or two ago the John Reese Traffic Secrets 2.0 hype. I don’t know about you but I’m getting fed up with it to a certain extent.
The gurus as I will call them, all do joint ventures with one another, it’s a sort of you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours scenario . I’m not saying there is anything wrong with this approach it’s good business practice, but of late, or so it seems to me it’s been relentless.
I respect the list owners far more that don’t hit me with offers all the time. I like the ones who pick and choose carefully what in their opinion is right for their lists. I think that is intelligent marketing and I will stay with them because they offer me value. They won’t make my “Cool Sites” if they don’t pass this test!
I actually buy quite a lot of products, and to be quite frank if they don’t offer good value I get a refund and so should you! Some of the information coming from people who should know better is not that good! I will actually review what I have bought this year and what I’ve got refunds on. From memory so far there has only been one jewel amongst the carp!
I think the mood is changing somewhat on the email marketing front seasoned subscribers are getting fed up! Day after day I see comments such as “had 10 emails all promoting the same thing today so I unsubscribed from the lot”!
Why not wait for the hype to die down these products are not going anywhere they will still be there next month! Then do some research and see what people are saying about them. Also check out the refund rates, that can be quite revealing! I have a couple of sites with excellent forums that I belong to where you can get an honest, unbiased and informed opinion.
You could just buy it and get a refund if you don’t value a product, but it wastes time! That’s time reading the stuff and maybe time spent implementing something that isn’t going to work for you!
So in summary, act wisely check out what others are saying first and if you really really want it, get it but don’t be afraid to ask for a refund if it doesn’t live up to the hype.
